New York City

times square

It’s been a long time since I visit New York City again, it really feels good to be back in the states again. This is the famous Times Square located at the 42th street, crowded and pack but full of surprises.

statue of liberty

Statue of liberty! Everyone knows what is this! It’s located at downtown Manhattan, too bad we couldn’t go to Ellis Island due to under reconstruction. I really enjoyed the Ferry ride although it’s cold that time.

brooklyn bridge

Brooklyn bridge somehow reminds me of a song sing by Bruno Mars. That person is somewhere, somewhere somewhere in Brooklyn.

Penang Hill, Malaysia

I went Penang with my family last Chinese New Year, and I really like Penang.

Penang is a relaxing and quiet place. Even though they don’t have a lot of big shopping center or happening places, the local streets selling local delights are the best place to hang out at night.

One of the famous attraction of Penang is the Penang Hill. Penang Hill is a hill resort comprising a group of peaks in Penang. It is located in Air Itam, which is 6KM from the city center of George Town.

First we need to purchase tickets and take a cable car to get up to Penang Hill, from the cable car, it’s a breathtaking scenery : The whole Penang Island.

Namsan Tower, Seoul

The N Seoul Tower, commonly known as the Namsan Tower or Seoul Tower, is a communication and observation tower  located on Namsan Mountain in central Seoul, South Korea. It marks the highest point in Seoul.

We need to purchase cable car tickets first to get up to the observatory deck.

Although it was really cold that night, but the night view of Seoul is just totally amazing.

N Seoul Tower is a romantic pilgrimage for those couples who wish to declare their eternal love, much akin to that of the Pont de l’Archevêché in Paris; But unlike the governments in Paris, New York and other cities where love locks are presently cut down, N Seoul Tower actively encourage people to leave locks in specially designated areas – even going as far to commission metal trees and hearts for this purpose – where now thousands of love locks spreading a message of love are scattered around the base of the tower.

Ayutthaya Historical Park, Thailand.

A visit to Ayutthaya Historical Park, Thailand. It is located in Ayutthaya, which is a place that takes an one hour drive from Bangkok.

The Ayutthaya historical park covers the ruins of the old city of Ayutthaya, Thailand. The city of Ayutthaya was founded by King Ramathibodi I in 1350 and was the capital of the country until it’s destruction by the Burmese army in 1767. In 1969 the Fine Arts Department began with renovations of the ruins, which became more serious after it was declared a historical park in 1976. The park was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1981.

This is the famous Buddha head growing in the tree.

above are some photos that i took it on my own when i visited this place.

As this place is a sacred place, visitors have to be extra careful and show respect to buildings and the ruined Buddha statues.

Markets of Thailand

I went Thailand with my friends and family for holiday in December 2012.

After a long month of national exam, the SPM, we finally had a chance to relieve from the stress.

We all know Bangkok is a good place to go for shopping and delicious food, but besides shopping, there are also some interesting tourist spots.

This is the Maeklong Railway Market, it become famous for its route through the Maeklong Railway Market. It is one of the largest fresh seafood markets in Thailand, and is centered around the Maeklong Railway’s track. Whenever a train approaches, the awnings and shop fronts are moved back from the rail, to be replaced once the train has passed.

when the train is not approaching the station, umbrellas are pulled down.

when train is approaching, umbrellas are folded up.

It’s one of the unique and interesting tourist attraction in Thailand.

Next, the floating market. A floating market is a market where goods are sold from boats. Originating in times and places where water transport played an important role in daily life, most floating markets operating today mainly serve as tourist attractions.

as you can see, the floating market is packed with tourists.

Well, Thailand is really an interesting country that it is actually one of my favorite country. Thailand is often called the “land of smiles,” not only because visitors love its natural beauty and historical riches, but also because of the country’s friendly people and fascinating culture.  In everyday life in Thailand, there is a strong emphasis on the concept of sanuk’; the idea that life should be fun. Because of this, Thai can be quite playful at work and during day-to-day activities.

Hope to see you again soon, Thailand!
